UNATTENDED COOKING

On Monday, August 27, 2018 at approximately 09:54 hours, Fire District No. 1 was dispatched to a smoke condition at 6302 Minuteman Circle. While responding,  a 2nd fire alarm activation from the same building.  A precautionary 2nd alarm mutual aid request was made.  Upon the arrival of FM8-E (Mickelsen) it was determined to be unattended cooking on the 3rd floor in apartment # 302.  A heavy smoke condition was present in the apartment and 3rd floor hallways.  At that time the 2nd alarm was cancelled and an extensive ventilation operation was started by Engine 561, 562, Car 56 and the FM8  Units.  No fire damage occurred, units remained on the scene for approximately 60 min.

Mult-Vehicle Accident w/Overturned Truck

Friday, 8/3/2018 at approximately 23:53 Station 56 and 44 were dispatched to an overturned tanker truck and subsequent 3-car MVC on Easton Avenue and JFK Blvd.  Upon the arrival of Car 56 (Sudo) he found an overturned water tanker leaking water and fuel along with a mult-car MVC.  This accident spaned the jurisdiction of Fire District 1 and 3.  Along with the District 3 companies Station 26 and the Somerset County Hazmat Team responded.  No serious injuries were reported.  Crews were 9n scene for approximately 60 minutes

TRENCH RESCUE

July 19, 2018 – A trench collapse occurred in the borough of Bound Brook trapping a worker up to his waist.  The Franklin Township Technical Rescue Task Force (Station 56, 25, 26) was requested.  Chief 56, Special Ops 56 and TRT unit responded with the other task force units to the incident.  The victim was removed from the trench and transported to a medical facility.  No further information is available.

VEHICLE FIRE

On Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 08:36 hours Fire District No. 1 responded to a working car fire in a driveway exposing a structure.  Car 26, FM8 units, Car 28, E562, E442 responded to the scene and extinguished the fire without incident.

 

STRUCTURE FIRE

On January 19, 2018 Stations 56 and 44 were dispatched to a working structure fire in station 56’s first due area while out on another run.  Car 56, E561, E562 responded along with the 2nd alarm mutual aid companies. Crews operated on the scene for approximately 2.5 hours.
