Dive Class

Today 7 of our members started the 1st day of a 4 day rapid deployment rescue and recovery course offered by Life Guard Systems. This is the last step to becoming full fledged rescue divers and dive tenders on our team. Along with us are divers from Lambertville FD as well as dive tenders from Millstone Valley (Station 28) and Elizabeth Ave (Station 26).

This afternoon at 12:13 hours our RIT was requested into District 3 for a working structure fire. Rescue 66 responded with a crew of 6. Upon their arrival the crew conducted 360’s and set up on the B side of the structure. The crew stood by for approximately 2 hours without incident.

Last night at 21:18 hours District 1 was dispatched into Millstone Boro for an MVA with entrapment. Car 562 , Rescue 56, Engine 562 , and Engine 561 responded. Once on scene the crews split into stabilization and patient care. Once the car was stable the crew was able to extricate 1 patient from the back seat. Then assisted with patient packaging and removal from the vehicle. The patient was then handed over to ems for transport. All units were cleared in approximately an hour.

Yesterday evening at 23:12 hours our engine was requested into Piscataway Township to cover River Road’s firehouse while they operated on a structure fire. Engine 561 responded with a 5 man crew. Shortly after calling in service the engine was redirected to the scene. Upon their arrival the crew stretched a supply line to River Road Engine 652. The crew then went to work assisting in ventilation , checking for extension , and hitting hot spots in the fire room and adjoining apartments. The crew operated for approximately 1 hour before being cleared.
