This afternoon at 1300 hours, Station 56 was alerted to respond into Franklin District 3 for a working apartment fire on John F. Kennedy Blvd. Rescue 56 responded, assigned initially as the Rapid Intervention Crew, but arrived 2nd due (1st arriving special service) and was reassigned as the search company. The crew performed primary searches and assisted North Brunswick Truck 3 in opening up on Division 2. Crews were met with heavy fire in the attic, which was quickly extinguished. After rehab and swapping air bottles, the Rescue crew stood by as RIC. Units operated for approximately 2 hours.
