New Brunswick Road structure fire

This evening at 18:36 hours District 1 companies were dispatched to New Brunswick Rd for a report of a fence on fire. Engine 562 arrived on scene with smoke showing. Moments later Deputy Chief 56 upgraded the assignment to a working structure fire. The 5 man crew from Engine 562 stretched a 1 3/4 inch attack line to extinguish the fire, the crew then assisted other district companies with overhaul. All units were cleared and the scene was turned over to fire prevention in approximately 1 hour.

Bound Brook RIT Assignment

This afternoon at 13:06 hours our RIT was requested into Bound Brook for the 2nd alarm structure fire. Rescue 56 responded with a crew of 6 along with Chief 56. Once on scene the crew arrived they preformed their initial size up and continued to conduct 360 degree walkarounds through the duration of the fire. The crew stood by without incident and was clear in approximately 2 hours.

River Road Standby

This afternoon at 14:03 hours our engine was requested into Piscataway to standby at River Road’s firehouse while they operated on a structure fire. Engine 562 responded with a 3 man crew and stood by for approximately 2 1/2 hours. During the cover assignment the crew responded with Ladder 27 to a mulch fire. On arrival the crew stretched the 1 3/4 inch bumper line to extinguish the fire. Units were clear of the fire in approximately 10 minutes. Engine 562 was clear of Piscataway at approximately 16:30.

Dumpster Fire Belmont Drive

At 12:40 hours while clearing a previous call, Station 56 and the rest of Fire Dist. 1 were dispatched to 130 Belmont Dr for a reported dumpster fire. Deputy 56 arrived, confirming the working fire, E562 arrived first due and stretched a line for extinguishment. Units remained on scene for extensive overhaul.

STRUCTURE FIRE

On Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at approximately 16:21 hours a structure fire at 1815 Amwell Road was reported by a passerby. Fire District No.1 companies, Franklin Township Fire Prevention and mutual aid from Fire District No. 3 responded. The fire was paced under control in about 90 minutes. No one was hurt during the fire however, a family pet perished. The fire is under investigation by the Franklin Township Fire Prevention Department.

Mutual Aid Structure Fire Piscataway

At 09:53 hours our engine was requested into Piscataway to standby at River Road’s firehouse while they operated on a structure fire. Engine 561 responded with a 3 man crew and shortly after arriving at the firehouse was redirected to the scene. Upon their arrival the crew from the engine went to the man power pool and was tasked with primary search. The crew conducted primary searches on the second floor , basement , and assisted interior crews extinguishing hot spots. Engine 561 was cleared and back in town in approximately 3 1/2 hours.

Piscataway 2nd Alarm Structure Fire

This evening at 20:50 hours our engine was requested into Piscataway for a 2nd alarm structure fire. Engine 561 responded with a 4 man crew and upon arrival assisted with hitting hot spots and overhaul on the 2nd floor. Once cleared from the scene , the crew stood by River Road’s firehouse on a cover assignment. Engine 561 was clear of Piscataway in approximately 2 hours.

South Bound Brook Shed Fire

This morning at 08:01 hours our engine was requested into South Bound Brook for a shed fire. Engine 562 arrived first due with a crew of 4 and dropped a supply line. They then stretched an attack line to extinguish the fire. The crew then remained on scene for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to assist with overhaul.
