This week, during our nightly duty crews, members conducted training on our Tripod system. It is a versatile tool that can be utilized in many different ways depending on the situation, such as during a confined space or rope rescue. Members refreshed their knowledge of where the equipment is located on the apparatus and how to set it up efficiently.

2/16/2021 Cottontail Ln Extrication
Rescue 56 extricates one on Cottontail Ln. The crew of 7 members stabilized the vehicle and removed the windshield, freeing the patient.
District 3 Highland Ave Structure Fire
On Wednesday, February 10th, at 0345 hours, Station 56 was requested into Franklin District 3 for a working structure fire. Car 56, Car 562, Rescue 56, and Utility 56 responded with a combined crew of 14 members. Upon arrival, the crew was split and tasked with operating on Division 1 and 2. Crews assisted with opening up and overhaul, operating for approximately 2 hours before returning to service.

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we were unable to hold our annual Installation of Officers Dinner. Yesterday, at our company meeting, the 2021 fire and administrative line were sworn in, and the following awards were presented in recognition of our membership’s hard work and dedication.
